A fantastic second full day has been had by all of the children. Some of the children began their day taking aim at the targets in Archery, some even scored a bullseye. Others began their day racing round the quad bike track. This afternoon the Year 6 children have enjoyed Power Climb, Zip Wire and Jacob's Ladder. All of the children put on the dancing shoes for tonight's disco! Please see pictures in the photo gallery. Everyone is ready for their last few activities tomorrow morning, before departing the Centre to return home.
Year 6 Kingswood Residential - Day 1
The Year 6 children have had an action packed first full day at Kingswood. All of the children have taken part in a variety of activities, all of which have been thoroughly enjoyed. Many of the children have been refining their survival skills whilst talking part in Bushcraft activities, including fire lighting and shelter building. Some groups have been working on their leadership and cooperative skills during Team Challenge and Crate Stack. Others have made their way to the top of the tower and had a go at abseiling and zip wire. Ms. Scrase, Headteacher, visited the children at Kingswood today. She was very impressed at the positive attitudes towards challenging activities such as Jacob's Ladder, as well as the communication and teamwork skills the children were demonstrating and building during each activity. Please see photo gallery for pictures. Year 6 are excited for another action packed day tomorrow!
Conversion to Academy
The Governing Body has decided that the school should become an academy and join the LEO Academy Trust.
Following careful consideration the Governing Body concluded that collaborating as a partner, alongside Cheam Park Farm Primary Academy, Cheam Fields Academy, Brookfield Academy and Cheam Common PrimaryAcademy, in the LEO Academy Trust would be the best way to provide further opportunities for the school's pupils and staff. As part of the Trust, we will share the high level of knowledge and skills of Cheam Fields staff and benefit from improved professional development and training.
You will find a link on the LEO website if you would like more details and information about the LEO Academy Trust, which can also be accessed directly via: http://www.leoacademytrust.co.uk/
Your views on this matter are important to the governors and leadership team of the school. Please send any comments in writing to the Chair of Governors via the school office at the above address, marking the envelope ‘Academy Consultation’. Alternatively email firstname.lastname@example.org
Please let us know your views by the end of the Summer Term – 19th July 2017.
If the proposals proceed to plan and the necessary formal arrangements are agreed between the school, the LEO Academy Trust and the Department for Education, the Governing Body hopes that Manor Park will become an academy and join the LEO Academy Trust on 1st November 2017.
