Each year Manor Park Primary Academy supports three charities: 1 Local charity, 1 National charity and 1 International charity.

Please see below some charities that we have raised money for over the past year.

Autumn 2018 - Bullying UK (National)
Summer 2018 - Water Aid (International)
Spring 2018 - Dreaming Tree Project (Local)
Autumn 2017 - Children in Need (National)

Dreaming Tree Project

The School Council nominated a local charity-The Dreaming Tree Project, as their chosen charity to raise funds for this term. They are trying to raise £18,000 for deaf children in Sutton to buy radio aids to enable them to hear their teachers and learn.

The children (and their parents and carers) donated £695.31 through a Mufti Day.

Penny Smart, the founder of The Dreaming Tree Project came in to talk to the children in assembly about the aims of the charity and how their money can help children with hearing impairments. She was overwhelmed when she found out how much money the school had actually raised and was deeply grateful.

CHILDREN IN NEED

The children recently raised the magnificent sum of £661.64 for Children in Need. Through the School Council, the children chose to support this worthwhile cause and, dressed in their “Children in Need” favourite safari animal attire and arranged all their coin donations into animal outlines on the court.

WATER AID

The School Council recently held a Mufti Day to raise money and awareness of the plight of countries with little or no water supplies and sanitation and the support Water Aid provide. They raised £458.76 which is wonderful for such a worthy cause.
