Meet The Governors

  • Barry Russell

Chair of Governors / Co-opted Governor

"I have been a governor at Manor Park Primary School since 1997 and Chair of Governors since 1999. My prime focus for Manor Park is to provide an environment that most helps children to learn and develop all the skills that will help them in life. I am very proud of all the children and adults who are involved with making our School what it has become."

  • Simon Thomson

    Vice Chair of Governors/Parent Governor

"I became a parent governor in 2013 to support the school in continuing to deliver an excellent all-round education to our children and have two children at Manor Park Primary School. I am a qualified accountant and my personal interests include supporting Harlequins rugby club and technology."

  • Rohima Crook

    Co-opted Governor

"I have always had an interest in young people's education and ensuring they are prepared with the right life skills to succeed throughout and post education. I joined the governing body in October 2017 and will work to ensure that the students at Manor Park Academy have access to the best opportunities available to them."

  • John Gilmore

    Co-opted Governor

"After some forty years working in casinos, both in the UK and around the world, I found that even after my duties as a magistrate, I still had time to commit to being a governor of a local school. Always being interested in education and the complexities of running a successful school, I chose to be involved at primary level. This choice enabled me to join Manor Park and, with the headteacher and her team, to be part of the children’s educational journey through their early school years."

  • Mr N Morgan

    Co-opted Governor

I am the School Site Manager and I think it is important to contribute to the leadership of premises and in particular Health and Safety. I am proud of the school and the site and want to support ensuring that the school is of the highest standard it can be in all areas.

  • Paul Scully

    Co-opted Governor

"Being a school governor of a primary school in particular allows me to contribute to the development of children at such a fundamental stage in their development. This is the time that they learn life skills and begin to build lasting friendships. These are the building blocks which help with social mobility and the reason that I wanted to make a contribution as a governor."

  • Syed Waheed

    Co-opted Governor

"I have been a LEA Governor of the school for almost fifteen years. I have been an observant of ups and downs in the quality and standard of education, child safety and equality of opportunities at this school. I am proud to be part of the governing body where the teaching staff, parents and the governors have been striving to raise and transform the quality and standard of education together with mental and physical well being of every child and to see that this school is not only stand out but sought after by the parents in the Borough."

  • Ian Walker

    Co-opted Governor

"The most rewarding (and, with two children at the school, reassuring) aspect of being a parent governor has been to see the commitment of the senior leadership team, staff and governors to ensuring that all pupils have the chance to realise their full potential in a safe, supportive environment. Without attending meetings of the full governing body and of the finance & premises committees, I wouldn't have appreciated just how much work is involved."

  • Ms Clark

    Co-opted Governor

I joined Manor Park Primary Academy over ten years ago and have been part of the leadership team that has made changes to ensure that the school delivers the outstanding education that it does today. I think it is important to be part of the Governing Body to additionally contribute to the schools sustainability and continual evaluation to improve.

  • Jo Bolton

    Parent Governor

Parent Governor Being part of the PTA and taking on the role of FOMP Chair in 2015, I became actively involved in fund raising and organising FOMP events for the school. By joining the Governing body, I appreciate the day to day running of Manor Park and this has given me an enhanced respect for all the staff at the school. As a Governor I hope I can help Manor Park capitalise on its successes to date.

  • Ms Groom

    Staff Governor

I am part to the Leadership team and think that it is a privilege to work with governors as volunteers to support the school to make the right choices and ensure that the highest standard of education is offered to all children to enable them to be successful adults.

  • Ms Scrase

    Headteacher

Governors have always been a huge support to leading the school. Their knowledge and experience has contributed greatly to steering forward. Thoughtful questioning and coaching has enabled the leadership team to be dynamic and successful. Governors enable the leadership of the school at exactly the right level of support.
