Year 2 - Athletics

During PE this half term, the Year 2 children have been developing their jumping skills considering agility, balance and control. They have thought about how they can keep their bodies safe when jumping and learned about how important it is to bend their knees when they are jumping and landing. The children practised jumping from two feet to two feet with control and balance. When they felt ready, they moved on to jumping from one foot and landing on two and jumping from two feet and landing on one foot. To make it more interesting, they combined their jumps with a hop and a step to see how far they could travel.
