Year 2 - Engage

Scented Garden – Engage Week 23rd April 2019

As part of year two’s engage week for our new topic, the children have been doing a lot of exciting things. To start the topic, they created observational pictures using a real tulip to draw from. They then dissected the flower to see the different parts of the flower. The children enjoyed carefully taking the petals off to reveal the stigma and the stamen. They had fun creating their own 3D flower. Later in the week, they made flapjacks using clear honey and discovered the importance of bees to flowers and the world. To end the interesting week, the children made scented playdough that smelled like lavender. They really liked kneading it to make it soft and then enjoyed playing with it. Year two had such a fun week!
