Year 3 Synagogue Visit

The children have been learning about Judaism in RE and so went to the synagogue to see their learning in real life. They got the chance to see the Jewish holy book, The Torah, in the Ark where it is kept as well as see one up close and even touch it using a yad or pointer. In the Jewish faith, boys have to wear tallit’s or prayer shawls when they reach the age of 13. The children learnt that each knot represents one of the rules they must follow. Year 3 even got the chance to taste some traditional Jewish food such as matzo and challah bread.
