Year 4 Road Trip USA

25th February 2019

During engage week, Year 4 started their journey across America!

The children had a go at naming the 50 states that make up the USA and studied key landmarks of the country. They then sketched one of these landmarks. The children really enjoyed trying some American line dancing too!

The children explored some Native American Traditions by creating their own dreamcatchers using Native American patterns. They also learnt how to sketch a side profile picture and used this to attach a feather headdress, also made by them! They studied the tradition of Totem Poles and learnt why and how they are created. They then had a go at designing their own.

Finally, the children baked their very own warm apple pies. They also made the box to take these home in, thinking about what sort of information should be including on packaging.
