Year 6 Kingswood - Day 3

All of the children have had a fantastic third day at Kingswood. After a good night's sleep, the children were well rested and ready for another day full of activities. Some of the children began their day by taking part in the Leap of Faith. During this activity the children had to climb to the top of a podium and make their way to a standing position on a platform, ready to leap and touch the ball hanging in the mid air. Many of the children commented that the ball was much further away than it looked from the ground! Other children began their day by taking part in aeroball. Aeorball is an activity which combines trampolining, basketball and volleyball and is played in a 2x2 trampoline grid. The children worked well together in their teams to score points by getting the ball through the opening at the top of the netting. Throughout the day a wide range of activities took place across the site. These activities included Climbing, Archery, Quad Biking, Jacob's Ladder and Buggy Building. When taking part in Jacob's ladder, the children had to work in pairs to ascend parallel bars which were set roughly a metre apart. With encouragement from their team, many children reached the top. Buggy Building saw the children work in groups to build a buggy which needed to safely and successfully navigate a course which they had designed. Buggy Building allowed the children to develop their resilience as not all ideas worked the first time round. The final night activity was Club Kingswood, the infamous last night disco. It was great to see the children enjoying themselves with the friends and socialising across the year group. The children are ready for their final few activities tomorrow morning before heading home. Pictures will be added to the school website upon our return.
