This term the children’s topic has been ‘Hola Mexico.’ They learnt about the famous Mexican festival; ‘Day of the Dead,’ thinking about the traditions and history behind this special event. They researched why the death masks are made and took inspiration to design their own. They then transferred their design onto their own mask thinking carefully about the colours and shapes they were using. During ‘Dia de los Muertos,’ the streets of Mexico are lined with ‘papel picado,’ so year 6 had a turn at making their own, using them to make our classrooms bright and ready for a party!
