Our topic this half term is ‘Muck, Mess and Mixture.’ During Engage, the children started reading the popular story by Roald Dahl ‘George’s Marvellous Medicine’ and came up with their very own marvellous medicines. The children thought carefully about what effect their medicine might have such as turning them invisible or making them grow taller. In Art, they studied the work of the artist Jackson Pollock and how he used paintbrushes in a different way. The children then created their own version using his famous technique and using different tools such as their fingers and straws to blow paint bubbles! Coral, Diamond and Quartz also designed their own biscuits. They thought about how they could mix different coloured icing together for their designs.  After that they created their designs on biscuits using icing, food colouring and different toppings.
