Year 2- Autumn 2 EngageBack to News
In year 2 this term, the topic was ‘Street Detectives.’ During Engage, the children learnt about the Great Fire of London including the way of life of the people that lived during the Stuart Times- when the fire happened. After researching the Stuart Times, they thought about the differences between the Stuart era and modern day such as toys and homes. They even made their own version of a toy the children would have played with back then and created their own Stuart houses from junk modelling. As the fire was started in a Pudding Lane bakery, the children became bakers themselves and made bread and butter puddings! They used the equipment safely and ensured their puddings were made hygienically.
