Year 3 - Engage WeekBack to News
To begin their new topic of ‘Urban Pioneers’, the children looked at lots of different famous landmarks in cities around the world such as the Eiffel Tower and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. They then thought closer to home about cities in the UK and focused specifically on the capital city - London. Using a range of techniques to create texture and tone, the children were given a picture of half of a landmark and sketched the other half. They used careful observation skills to copy the other half of the picture in as much detail as possible, and created some great pieces of artwork that look as good as the landmarks themselves!
