Year 6 - World Book WeekBack to News
As part of their learning during World Book Week, the children read excerpts from ‘Wonder’ by RJ Palacio. They thought about the importance of treating everyone fairly and how wonderful it is that everyone in the world is unique. They created their own animals using a range of different features and wrote a speech which explained why it’s good to be different! To celebrate their individuality, year 6 redesigned the front cover of the book showing the different traits that make them who they are! A big part of August’s story are the postcards that the children write each month, the children got the chance to write their own postcards to someone they missed during lockdown. The whole week culminated in dress up day with the children showing off the costumes of their favourite characters!
